Layne Flack: The Fast and the Furious Pro
Layne Flack is one of the younger players in the pro poker circuit. He is known to play furiously and he has exhibited this type of playing style diligently. He plays with confidence and he never seems to faze even with the most formidable opponents. He was tagged as a party boy and a dynamo in action at the World Poker Tour. However, his start-up career in poker wasn't easy and as successful at it is nowadays.
Flack earned quite a few World Series of Poker bracelets which include the 2003 $ 1500 Hold'em Shootout and the $ 2500 Omaha Hi/Lo. He was dubbed "Back to Back Flack" when he won at the $ 1500 No-limit and $ 2000 No-limit Hold'em in 2002. Flack's playing style fits perfectly to the game play applicable to No-limit Hold'em. Flack's philosophy in playing No-limit is to do the opposite of everything you think, which was published in Card Player Magazine. Layne Flack was born in Rapid City, South Dakota in 1969.
He learned his first poker lessons from his grandparents when he was quite young. He then became a casino dealer and had found his calling. He decided to pursue a career in gaming. After work his work hours, Flack would go through one casino to another in order to learn his skills. After some time, he was promoted to Night Manager. However, Flack just couldn't keep up with the work schedule and playing in different casinos, so he decided to quit his job in order to pursue his poker career. After a while, Flack moved up a notch and started playing pro.
Johnny Chan became Layne Flack's friend when he was already at the pro poker circuit. Chan helped him develop his skill and improve his game. Chan was also always there for Flack, especially during the bad times. There was once a time when Flack lost big-time and Johnny was there telling him to sleep it off and he will stake his game on the following day. Flack got the encouragement he needed and was able to recover his losses on the day of the game. The deal with Chan was 50% of the win and the pay-up. Huck Seed also became Flack's mentor. They were contemporaries, and Seed is one great pro as well.
Layne Flack has always been a party guy and he loves drinking and celebrating. But in the early 2000, he started using drugs. He was then rehabilitated in 2004. His friend and pro poker player, Daniel Negreanu shouldered the $ 80,000 bill for the treatment. Layne Flack recovered and has gone back playing at the tables again. His recent win was at the $ 1500 Pot-limit Hold'em, where he finished second and took home $ 185,855.

Being young and full of energy, Layne Flack has made it to the list of the best pros in the business. Even after having a downtime in his life, Flack has never lost his skill. His career is still on the right track and the future is surely bright for this young pro.

Being nice and humble are probably Chris Bjorin's assets and secrets to becoming one of the best pros. Having the skill and being one of the best are characteristics he is proud of,but he keeps it low key for he is one of the shy guys of the pro poker circuit.
